Q:
How long does it take to process an order?
A:
We check our orders every day, and when possible ship them
the same day. Usually items are sent out by the next business
day. Most items arrive within 7 to 10 days. Some destinations
take a few days longer so please please visit our Rush
Shipping page if you
need items faster.
Q:
How much will I be charged for shipping?
A:
We do not charge for standard shipping within the US, and ship
via US Mail. If you want your item(s) faster, please click
here. Rush
orders are sent via Priority or Express Mail.
Q:
What is your return and exchange policy?
A: Please click
here to view our return
policy.
Q:
Do you ship internationally?
A: We will ship most items internationally, but reserve
the right to cancel any order. (i.e. We will not ship current
uniform items to Iran, Syria, etc.)
Q:
What needs to be done to get an order sent internationally?
A: For information on international orders, please click
here.
Q:
I provided the wrong shipping address, and my order has already been shipped. Now what happens?
A: Packages are usually returned to us by the USPS within a 7-21 days. When they arrive back, we'll put through a refund on the order lessour shipping cost. (Shipping is included in our prices, but is not free.) If you still need the order, please place it again using the correct shipping address.
Q:
Why do you use PayPal?
A: PayPal is an easy and inexpensive way to accept payments
on the Internet, using a credit card or checking account. By using
PayPal we make it easy for you to shop on this site by using their
online shopping cart. A PayPal account is NOT required.
Q:
Do you accept any other forms of payment?
A: Please go to our Payment Options page
for more information.
Q:
What does it mean if an item is On Hold?
A: On hold items are items that are not available for
a variety of reasons, but may be again soon. Check back to see
if an on hold item becomes available, or let us know if
you're interested in the item.
Q:
What if I want to buy something that isn't on this site?
A:
We try to accommodate requests when we can by checking with Marines
we know and seeing what they have available. Occasionally they
are able to purchase items for us on base if they don't have
extras of their own. Please use our request
form if
we can help you find a particular item.
Q:
I have an item and would like to trade it for something on
your site. Can I?
A: No, we do not offer that service.
Q:
What happens if I order an item the same time someone else
does?
A:
When we receive two orders for the same item, we will complete
the order for the order notifications we get first. If your
notification is the second one to reach us, we'll let you
know and offer you a similar item. If we do not have another
item you want we'll immediately refund your payment.
Q:
Why do you watermark all your large images?
A: We spend a lot of time cleaning up the photographs
before we post them on our site, and we seem to be doing
a good job because we see our pictures on a lot of other
web sites. If someone is going to steal our images we should
at least get credit for them. We don't mind people linking
to our large images (free advertising), but if they link
to a smaller one we'll swap out the graphic with something
else that they may not like as much. We'd rather have them
steal the image outright than steal our bandwidth too.
Q:
Can civilians buy items from this site?
A:
Of course they can! There are no restrictions on who can buy items
from our site.
Q:
How can I contact you?
A: We don't have a full time staff so the best way to
contact us is via our Contact Form. We
try to check messages daily.
Q: Where do all these items
come from?
A: We started as a bit of an on-line Marine garage sale for
friends, and went from there. We get items from manufacturers
when we can, from other online sources, government surplus, and
even thrift stores. Marine friends who are getting out, or just
getting rid of old gear, also supply many of the items on the
site.
Q: Are
the second-hand items on the site clean and laundered?
A:
Generally. Most of the items on USMCBLUES.COM have been laundered,
or are completely new and unused. The main exception is items that
can't easily be laundered, or require dry-cleaning. Some items are
are posted in the condition in which they get to us, whatever that
may be. If something is obviously not clean, we'll list that in the
description (or just wash it). On request, we will (re)wash any second-hand
item on the site before shipping it (with the exception of items that
need to be dry-cleaned). Just let us know, and allow an extra day
or two to process the order. Items offered as new and/or un-used
are clean unless otherwise noted.
Q:
Did you know you're not identifying some items correctly?
A:
We try to identify items in such a way that the general public will
understand what it is they're looking at. The actual names for some
of the items are too long to work well on a web page, so we've simplified
a little. We also go by whatever the Marine who gives us the item
says it is.
Q:
How accurate are your descriptions?
A:
We try to be as honest and accurate as we can about the condition
of the items on this site. We will gladly double check any item
and take a better picture of it if you have any concerns about
the accuracy of the description(s). Some of the items are second-hand,
so there may be wear and tear, or other signs of use. The items
pictured on the site are either actual items being sold ("As Shown")
or are pictures of a similar item where the items are indistinguishable
("Sample Shown"). We also describe the item based on what we're
told by the Marine listing the item with us. If we know that's
wrong, we change it, otherwise we go with what they say it is.
Q:
What is your privacy policy?
A:
All transactions on this site are kept strictly confidential. We
do not pass along any personal information about any of our suppliers,
nor that of our customers. Your email address and/or shipping address
is not sold, traded, given out, or in any way used beyond the reason
for which it was intended.
